Ericsson gave a date for 6G!
Ericsson announced that the 6G network will be launched in 2030. This statement by the company was made based on the global projection of 4G and 5G mobile networks so far. The report also states that the 5G network is expected to dominate the market in 2027, exceeding previous estimates.
According to Ericsson, the growth of 5G will be driven by China and India, which will reach 6.3 billion users in 2030, representing 67 per cent of the mobile phone market. Of this total, 3.6 billion users are expected to use the 5G SA network, the fastest and autonomous version, as it does not use the 4G structure.
The company estimates that 5G will have 2.3 billion users by the end of 2024, accounting for more than 25 per cent of the global device base. It was emphasised that 4G is a trend that should continue to grow as it lost 69 million users in the third quarter and retained 5.1 million users.
In the same period, 3G networks lost 31 million users, while 34 million people stopped using devices with only 2G networks.
